My name is Monique Hamlett. I am 5’7, 28 year old and a Compliance Specialist with a Master’s of Science in Human Resource Management. I was raised on the Northside by a single mother who made sure I followed the path of education. I currently work at Education Management Corporation where I conduct rules and regulation policy evaluations for multiple Universities. I have dedicated part of my professional life making sure others across the U.S. are able to continue their education.
The other part of my life I have dedicated to creative arts. Previously, I owned an Internet Radio Show called the Sapphire Exclusive. My show discussed a range of topics that dealt with love, breakups, relationships and friendships. Although, it was a one woman show I made sure to shine positive light on my Brown Beautiful Bold Men who were guest speakers. My guest consisted of talented musicians, fashion designers and even artists who painted beautiful murals.
Currently, I still work towards my dreams of working in the entertainment industry. My networking skills have allowed me to get in contact with multiple management companies that have given me the opportunity to meet Patti Labelle and be on stage with artists such as, Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond and Kim Burrell. Furthermore, I’m in the process of working behind the scenes of multiple podcasts and getting the opportunity to be a part of the yearly “48 Hour Pittsburgh Film Festival.”
I have had many ups and down in life but I can say that I have been blessed and that is why every year I give back to the community.
