Growing up I dealt with acceptance issues. I had to learn that beauty comes from within and only then can it be appreciated on the outside.
I'm currently the owner of Cakes By Joelisa where I bake and decorate all sorts of treats . It's my job to bring your vision to life in the edible form. I have a small boy age 6. I gave birth to my awesomely talented son my freshman year of college. Many people didn't expect for me to graduate but like my typical self I came, I saw and I conquered to received my Bachelors of Arts Degree in 2012 for Communications in Broadcast Journalism.
See I told you I was bold !
After graduation I purchased my first home for my son and I at the age of 23. I've found that because I was so young people found it easier to come to me with questions and I took full responsibility to help several others follow on that path of homeownership through private consultations and a public First Time Homebuyers Workshop. Currently I'm seeking my graduate degree in Professional Administration at Duquesne University. I believe in giving and being a positive role model to the young ladies that don't have anyone to look up to . I didn't exactly choose this role but I've come to fit right in it by doing the right things all the time .
My biggest accomplishment to date is living life . In Feb 2014 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. I'm glad that I can push through the pain and create a balance between work and being an awesome active mom.
My goal in life is to spread love and positivity and to serve as a reminder that yes there are still good people in this world .
I'm a beautiful , brown and bold woman !
