    "Just is me Diane Natashia....Beautiful....Brown....Bold!"
    • About Me

My name is Diane Burchette, I'm  32 years old, a mother to wonderful 6 year old boy and a soon to be wife.

I graduated from Carlow University in 2005 with my bachelor's degree in Social Work. After a very toxic relationship with the father of my son I started graduate school 2 months after my son's first birthday. I worked full time, full time mommy and part time (sometimes full time) graduate student. After 4 years I graduated in 2015 with my master's in professional counseling.

I am one of the 100 beautiful, brown, bold women because  those three words describe me. I do not fit the mold and that is what I absolutely love about myself. I think people in general don’t define women like myself as beautiful or pretty. I will show that no matter how tall, short, dark, light, long or short your hair is YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL !Being a short, dark skinned full figured woman I didn’t have all the confidence in the world until my mid –twenties, when I fell in love with myself. I was and still am often told I am “pretty to be dark skinned” and to this day I really don’t understand that statement (lol). Throughout elementary, middle school and even high school people made fun or my dark skin and I had trouble loving and accepting my skin tone, I always wanted to be lighter. As an adult people often assume I’m something that I’m not because of my physical appearance, people assume I’m not educated or that I am in fact not “Diane Burchette” because I should have a more “ethnic name”. I feel like I overcome adversity on daily basis and I respond to it in a very mature professional way. I graduated from Carlow University last year with my master’s in Professional Counseling, my ultimate goal is to become a licensed therapist, get my certification to become a doula and have my own practice where my target population would be mothers who have a  intellectual disability and/or mental illness and teen mothers.
