My name is Diana Lowe. I am 5'2", 41, a the President of Humbly At Your Service (my company) and Senior Administrative Assistant, PFCC Innovation Center for UPMC.
A teenage mother at the age of 16, I was determined to prove everyone wrong. I finished high school on time and received a scholarship to Point Park College. After attending for two years, I had to drop out because it became financially impossible to support us and go to school. I eventually obtained a job with a law firm as a floater/filing clerk. With no previous experience or legal background, I was promoted quickly to Legal Secretary. At the age of 22, my mother was in a severe car accident and suffered closed brain injury that resulted in left side paralysis. Three years later, my father became very ill and I became his caregiver. That same year, I gave birth to my second son. By the grace of God, I took care of my mother, my father, my two sons, and worked full time. It was hard but I knew what had to be done and I knew I had to do it. At the age of 32, I stepped out on faith and started Humbly At Your Service. My gift of administration, helps and healing have propelled my business beyond anything I initially imagined.
People often disqualify me because I don’t have a degree or credentials after my name. Life has taught me that God doesn’t need anything outside of himself to cause one to walk in the purpose he has for them. Sadly, it took me 30 years to accept that for myself. Today I walk confidently in that knowledge. I do believe higher education is important and I am in the process of becoming PMP certified. I am proud to say I made this decision strictly for me.
